Our commitment to your access
Our approach to access is to communicate with everyone in an individually focused and receptive way.
There are people with different disabilities on our board and staff, so we understand that knowing your needs will be met is very important to you.
We know that everyone’s needs are different but here are some examples of how we currently support individuals in our core programme and our audiences:
- Quiet space
- Sighted guiding
- Braille and large print documents
- Audio description
- Easy read information
- Communication by audio recording/voice notes
- BSL/ISL interpretation
- Video, photographic and written access guides for venues.
We also engage an access assistant in many of our core groups, who are there to support people however they need.*
We only use venues that best suit the needs of the people that we work with.
Our core programme happens across 3 venues each week: Crescent Arts Centre, Divis Community Centre and Connswater Shopping Centre. All have physical access and physically accessible toilets. The Crescent Arts Centre also has a Changing Place.
*Please note that we don’t provide any intimate or personal care. We have many people that attend with their personal assistant, who are also very much part of our community.
